This Privacy Policy describes how ZiType ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our macOS application.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

• Email address — used to create and authenticate your account via one-time passcode

Information collected automatically

• Token usage — the number of AI tokens consumed per request, used to enforce plan limits
• Subscription status — your current plan (Free or Pro) and billing state

Information we do NOT collect

• Your audio recordings — audio is processed in real time and never stored on our servers
• The text content of your voice inputs or outputs
• Any personal information beyond what is listed above

2. How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you and maintain your session
• To track token usage and enforce plan quotas
• To process subscription payments via Paddle
• To respond to support requests you initiate

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following service providers as necessary to operate the App:

• Supabase (supabase.com) — database and authentication infrastructure. Your email and usage data are stored on Supabase servers.
• Paddle (paddle.com) — payment processing. Paddle collects billing information directly and is subject to their own privacy policy.
• Aliyun (Alibaba Cloud) — AI model inference for voice processing. Audio data is sent for real-time processing only, not stored.

4. Data Retention

We retain your email address and usage data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where required by law.

5. Your Rights

• Access — you may request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Correction — you may request correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion — you may request deletion of your account and associated data

6. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted data transmission and secure authentication. However, no system is completely secure.

7. Children's Privacy

ZiType is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
